Apartment!

This past weekend was our first weekend in our Lakewood apartment since we've moved in mid-June. We spent the weekend relaxing, exploring Lakewood, and NOT driving!

Our apartment is still in progress, but it is feeling MUCH more like a home- many thanks to Jon for his intense organization skills :)

Here are some pictures from our weekend and our apartment. Don't mind the boxes and clutter- we're still getting organized, and our apartment will look much better once we take a few things home to my parents' house next weekend!

4th of July Weekend

This past weekend Jon (Joey) and I traveled home (for the second week in a row!) to PA. I must say, after making many trips from PA to OH to visit Jon the past year, I am very thankful to now have a driving partner and company on the 6 hour trip!

Our 4th of July weekend was packed full of visiting friends and family- so it was great, of course! One of the things I miss the most about living in PA is the ability to see my niece and nephew as much as I want... so naturally seeing them is my first priority when we make our trips home :) Saturday morning we met Mom, Dad, John, Tina, Katie, and Baby Johnny at Country table for breakfast (our favorite meal of the day!). Following breakfast, Jon dropped me off at the location of Korina's bridal shower to get things ready with all the girls, and he headed to hang out with his brother all day.

Korina and Ryan will be getting married September 18th, and Jon and I are SO excited to be a part of their "Big Day"! The surprise bridal shower was a success... as far as we know anyway! :) Here are some pictures from the day!

Following the bridal shower, Jon and I headed to New Cumberland (I think?) to hang out with Amber and Cody WANNER (newlyweds!) and to see their new apartment. The boys watched videos on the computer and Amber and I talked about married life and cooking... it's odd how our conversations have changed SO much since a year ago! We headed out to 2nd street in Harrisburg for a bit and walked the bridge to City Island since I had never been there before. Since I left my heavy purse in the car, there are no pictures from that evening! Next time... :)

On Sunday my parents had the family over for lunch to celebrate the 4th and a belated Happy Birthday to my Uncle Jim!

Sunday afternoon we headed over to Doug's house for some "T-ball B-ball"... baseball with tennis balls. It was hot, but a lot of fun... my favorite part was Doug's mom making homemade ice cream of course ;) It was great to have everyone together since that is getting harder and harder to do!

Monday we packed up, spent time with my family (including Katie and Johnny!), and headed back to Cleveland.

This coming weekend will be our FIRST weekend in our new apartment and not in PA since we got married! We are excited to sleep in, finish decorating the apartment, and actually enjoy living in Lakewood on a weekend! Apartment pics coming soon, as requested :)

We are bloggers? (Kim)

Hi Friends!

I set up this blog for Jon and I to use as a way to keep in touch with friends and family as we start our lives together... and to give you all a glimpse into our life in Cleveland! We've been married just over one month, but it feels like so much longer due to everything we have experienced in the last 30+ days! Here are just a few of the things we've been up to:
  • HONEYMOON to Jamaica!
  • Our nephew is born! "John Owen Deitrich"
  • Cody & Amber's wedding!
  • The BIG move to our new apartment.
  • Ben and Rachel's wedding!
  • Erin's barn/vet bridal shower!
  • Starting my part-time nanny job.
  • Discovering all that Lakewood and Cleveland have to offer :)
I myself, am not really the 'blogger type', but with all the other things in my life changing I thought I would give this a shot too. I'm sure that Jon will be putting in his two cents every now and again as well!

Enjoy our blog! Leave comments :)
